Important Update: Transition from BitTensor Web-Based Wallet to Official Browser Extension
Are you still using the web-based wallet for BitTensor? If so, it’s time to make a change. Here’s why:
This week, there isn't much news from BitTensor as the holiday season typically slows things down. However, I want to highlight a critical update regarding the BitTensor wallet. The web-based wallet we’ve all been using will be phased out soon. Starting January 16th, 2024, the web-based wallet will no longer be available and will be replaced with BitTensor's official browser extension.
What You Need to Do
You must migrate to the new official browser extension before the cutoff date to avoid losing access to your web-based wallet. If you have securely stored your mnemonic—preferably offline—you don’t need to worry if you miss the migration deadline. You can still use your mnemonic to regenerate your tokens in any compatible wallet.
About the New Browser Extension
The official BitTensor browser extension is now available on the Chrome Web Store. This extension provides a more secure, convenient, and user-friendly way to manage your BitTensor wallet. With it, you can easily switch between subnets, view your balance and transactions, stake and unstake your tokens, and much more.
Stay Safe
Please note, this is the only official BitTensor wallet extension. Always ensure you are installing the correct extension to avoid security risks.
